Fusion POS requires the installation of MS SQL Server at the organization’s site.
Overall hardware and software requirements are a subset of the Fusion Register requirements, described in the Fusion Hardware List.
a) Windows Version
POS should be run on Windows 10 Home Edition or greater.
b) SQL Server Version
MS SQL 2019 is recommended for new installations. Versions 2016 (SP1) and 2017 may be used if they are already installed at the site environment.
Express Edition is satisfactory for smaller server loads, particular at store tenants. However, Express Edition has limitations that may be significant:
- No support for database backups.
- A maximum database size of 10 GB.
Standard Edition or greater should be used when these limitations are not acceptable. This is often the case for the Corporate site install.
