Dynamic Merchandising

CommercePro Dynamic Merchandising

This feature helps the users to logically organize product attributes for better management and display of related information.

The ability to categorize attributes makes it easier for merchandisers to select and apply attributes to products.

To Enable this Feature

  1. Navigate to the Payables workspace and select Item Class.

  2. Create an Item Class by clicking the Add New Record icon or work with an existing one.

  3. Navigate to Attributes section.

  4. Select the Attribute ID from the list of available options as follows.

  5. To add an attribute, click Add Row (+).

  6. Add multiple rows as follows for adding multiple Attribute IDs to create groups for the attributes.

  7. Under the Merchandising Section, provide the Category label for which the attribute should be grouped in. In the following example, the attributes are to be grouped under three categories namely, Color, Size and Revenue.

Up to 10 Merchandising Sections (or Categories) can be defined. An error is displayed if more than 10 are entered.

While trying to assign 11 groups, the system displays the error under the MERCHANDISING SECTION.

Use the Section Sort Order to sort the data if required.

Merchandising Section

Navigate to the MERCHANDISNG SECTION and enter the Row Position and Column Position where you want your grouped attributes to be displayed on the screen.

You can only display your organized data for up to 5 rows and 2 columns on the screen.

  • Entering value greater than 5 in Row Position column displays the error message “Maximum number of rows to be added are 5.”

  • Entering value greater than 2 in Row Position column displays the error message “Maximum number of columns to be added are 2.”

How to Apply

  1. Add the stock item and tag or map this stock item with the item class under GENERAL SETTINGS whose attributes have been grouped. In our case, the stock item has to be mapped with MERCHTEST item class as follows.

  2. Navigate to the MERCHANDISE section of this stock item. The following screen with the grouped attributes of Color, Revenue, and Size appears.
