Creating a Manual Tax Zone for ChannelAdvisor
ChannelAdvisor will collect data on taxed orders automatically on the ChannelAdvisor merchant site.
A Tax Zone will have to be created in Acumatica.
Creating a Manual Tax Zone for ChannelAdvisor
This ensures the data transfer of taxable amounts is synced and organized within Acumatica.
Create a Tax Zone in Acumatica

Navigate to the Taxes workspace and click Tax Zones.

Click (+) to create a new Tax Zone.

Enter in the Tax Zone ID (e.g. MANUALTAX)

Enter in the Description (e.g. Manual Tax Zone)

Select the Default Tax Category.

This can be the default tax category for a merchant

Manual Tax ID
Next, a manual Tax ID must be created.

Navigate to the Taxes workspace and click Taxes in the Profiles section.

Click (+) to create a new Tax ID .

Enter a Tax ID. (e.g. MANUALID)

Enter a Description. (e.g. Manual Tax Zone)

Enter the Tax Type as Sales.

Toggle on the box labeled Propagate Manually Set Tax Amount From Sales Orders to Invoices.

In the Calculate On field, select Calc. On Document Amount.

In the Cash Discount field, select Does Not Affect Taxable Amount.

In the Tax Schedule tab, click (+) to create a new tax schedule.

Enter a Start Date.

This value can be any date prior to the present date.

The Tax Rate, Min. Taxable Amount, and Max. Taxable Amount should be set to 0.

In the Reporting Group field, select Default Output Group.

In the Categories tab, click (+) to attach a Tax Category.

Select the Tax Category used for the Tax Zone that was created above.

In the Zones tab, click (+) to attach a Tax Zone.

Select the Tax Zone that was created above.

In the GL Accounts tab, enter the Tax Payable Account and Tax Payable Subaccount used by the merchant.

Click Save.

Return to the Tax Zones menu and select the Tax Zone that was just created.

Under the Applicable Taxes tab, click (+) to add a new Tax ID.

Enter the Tax ID that was just created.

Click Save.
The Tax Zone has now been created for ChannelAdvisor.
This ensures orders imported from ChannelAdvisor will be taxed accordingly.
